Privacy Policy
Effective September 12, 2026
Spotter is operated by Beehive AI Labs LLC. Spotter helps you identify gym equipment and keep a workout log. This policy explains the data used by the mobile app and Spotter website.
Data Spotter uses
- Workout data: exercises, sets, repetitions, weight, notes, and workout times are stored on your device. If you sign in, a copy is stored in our cloud so you can restore it and use Circles.
- Account data: if you choose to sign in, we use your email address to send one-time sign-in codes and associate your cloud backup with you. Spotter does not use passwords.
- Camera images: when you ask Spotter to identify equipment, the selected image is reduced on your phone, sent to our service for identification, and retained in private storage for up to 90 days to improve identification quality. Images are not made public.
- Voice input: the microphone is used only while you activate voice logging. Audio is processed to turn spoken sets into text; Spotter does not continuously listen.
- Profile and Circle data: a display name, optional profile picture, Circle memberships, and recent training summaries support the accountability features you choose to use. Your chosen profile picture stays on your device. Equipment-identification photos are never shown in Circles.
- Diagnostics: operational events needed to diagnose failures may be stored on your device and in short-lived service logs.
Website data
If you join the launch list, we retain the email address you submit. The website records limited visit information such as page, referrer, campaign tags, language, and approximate screen size. It does not use third-party advertising cookies and honors Global Privacy Control where supported.
Sharing and selling
We do not sell personal data or use it for cross-app advertising. Data is handled by service providers used to operate Spotter, including Amazon Web Services for hosting, storage, authentication, and AI processing. Circle activity is shared only with people in a Circle you deliberately join, subject to the visibility controls described in the app.
Retention and deletion
Workout history remains on your device until you remove it. Signed-in cloud backups remain while your account exists. Camera images expire from the rolling identification store after 90 days. Operational logs have limited retention. To request deletion while in-app deletion is being completed, email hello@beehivewebstudio.com from your Spotter account address.
Your choices
You can use core workout logging without an account. You can deny camera, microphone, speech-recognition, or photo-library access and continue using the portions of the app that do not need that permission. You can leave a Circle or sign out from the Profile screen.
